The founder of the Kanaka School Project is Mrs. Christiana Frimpong. Born and raised in Ghana, she has been residing in the Netherlands since 1992.
In 2000, she decided to visit her home country. During this visit, she witnessed the many positive developments that the country had undergone, such as improved infrastructure, housing, employment, law enforcement, education, and more. She noted, however, that these developments primarily benefited the generally more affluent urban population.
There was a downside to all these positive changes – the limited access to these developments for the relatively poorer villagers. Having grown up as a villager herself, she experienced firsthand the importance of development in one's life, often achieved through education.
Christiana was fortunate to have received education in a family of nine siblings. Her heartfelt desire is to provide the same educational opportunities to all other young villagers, enabling them to be prepared to take full advantage of the positive developments in their own country.
She acknowledges that this is a significant aspiration, not easily realized. However, she has faith, based on the goodness of people. Together with your help, we can make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate.
